Job Description

We are launching an initiative to develop our next social enterprise and we are looking for a Project Manager to lead the initial phase of development activities. S/he will vet 3-5 enterprise opportunities and the development of a thorough business plan for the concept that is ultimately selected. The Project Manager will plan, manage, execute and report on all activities involved in the initial phase of work. These activities include managing an external social enterprise consultant, interfacing with a number of key stakeholders (Greyston's Board members, executive management and industry stakeholders) and other project administration and reporting activities. This is a temporary position offering the possibility of a regular, full-time role developing and/or running the social enterprise at the completion of the 12-month planning phase. The Project Manager may also be considered for other suitable opportunities within the Greyston Foundation.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the research and analysis required to identify and evaluate promising social enterprise concepts.
  • Manage a social enterprise consultant on a daily basis.
  • Interface with key stakeholders.
  • Present and report on project progress to internal audiences.
  • Develop the business plan for the new social enterprise.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of work experience in business, government or non-profit sectors.
  • Excellent research and organizational skills.
  • Project management experience.
  • Business development experience is a plus.
  • Social enterprise experience is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal, written and oral presentation skills.
  • Advanced degree (MBA, MPA, etc.) preferred.
