HBS nonprofit and public interest loan forgiveness program
Harvard Business School and the Student Association introduced the Non-Profit/Public Interest Loan Assistance Program in 1992. The program was created to provide HBS students with a wider career choice, and to ensure that nonprofit careers are an option to HBS graduates. The Loan Assistance Program is designed to reduce the educational debt repayment burden for MBA students entering career nonprofit or government jobs. Graduating MBA students and qualified graduates from MBA Class of 1999 onward are eligible to apply. The program supports a limited number of selected graduates on a funds-available basis each year. In June 2007, the program merged with the HBS Private Sector Loan Assistance Program to create one program offering wider career choices for HBS graduates across all sectors. New program information will soon be posted on the HBS Social Enterprise Initiative website. In the meantime, please direct inquiries to Tim Trapp in the HBS Financial Aid Office (617-495-9979 or ttrapp@hbs.edu).
